Pace Planner

Pick a target finish time and get a church-by-church schedule: when to reach each parish, and the pace per mile and per kilometre for every leg. The shape of the plan - where the field naturally speeds up and slows down for terrain and fatigue - is learned from the 100 fastest full-split finishes, so the arrive-by times add up to your goal exactly.

The Arrive-by column is the precise target (it sums to your goal exactly). Effort is how each leg compares with your average pace - positive means harder than average (the climbs out of Rushen, the long drags, late-race fatigue), negative means easier. The model is built from the fastest ~100 finishes (14:22-16:52), so it's most accurate for goals around that range; for a much slower goal it's a sensible guide but real mid-pack pacing tends to fade a little more in the back half.
